If life is hiking up a mountain with a backpack, my job as a coach is to show you the rocks you didn’t even know you were carrying. You get to hold each one in your hand, and let it go. Sometimes, the rocks just mysteriously disappear. You’ve lightened your load. Things are easier, and there’s more clarity. Eventually, there’s no big rocks left, but if you discover a new one, you now have a process to get rid of it on your own. That’s what coaching does. It empowers you. It gives you control. It clarifies your vision. You “drop” old ways of thinking that weren’t working for you, and you replace them with ways of thinking that do. Simple enough, right?
